Work-Study Details

Participants in our work-study program will gain a variety of skills from different categories such as trade skills, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Read each category below and learn the details of the program. This program is through School District #1 and it runs from Sept. 1 to May 1 every school year. Upon completion of the program, students receive a certificate of completion for each area of concentration they have completed. All students are supervised by a certified teacher while part of this program. A curriculum is set up for each individual student.

ENTREPRENUERSHIP

Students will learn bookkeeping, all aspects of running an AirBNB, teamwork, and strategic thinking.

LIFE SKILLS

Students will gain a stronger work ethic, learn cooking & baking, organization skills, and housekeeping skills.

TRADE SKILLS

Students will learn welding and fencing.

HORSE SKILLS

Students will learn how to maintain and train horses through  horsemanship, horsehusbandry, equine assisted learning, and farrier work.

SUSTAINABILITY

Students will learn agricultural husbandry, landscaping, and  gardening.

FARM LIFE

Students will learn equipment maintenance, and, pet care.

Building Tangible Skills for a Bright Future

Sign your children up for our kids summer camps carried out by our partner Shire Valley Equine Villa and Sanctuary. Camps are hosted multiple times throughout the summer. With nature based activities your kids will feel a greater sense of peace and joy after playing with the horses, exploring nature, creating crafts, playing games, and more.
